Combining Face Shapes and Hair Styles

By: Greg Dutch

Many women go to the hairdressers and end up really mad when they leave because what they ended up with is not what they chose out of the book or magazine. This happens to be your hairdressers fault because she should have explained to you that the cut you chose is not for your face shape. Your hairstyle will end up to look different then the one in the book because your face shape is different then the models in the book. I have listed some face shapes here and you can find more with some research.
An oval face shape tend to be the viristal. If you are one of the lucky people who have an oval face shape then you can wear just about any hair style.
People with an oval face shapes length is equal to one and a half the width of the face. If you have an oval face shape then you have a rounded hairline and also a rounded chin.
Having a round face shape doesn't mean that you have a fat face like many people believe.
The width and the length of a rounded face type is about the same. For any woman that has a round face type they should try to add some volume at the crown of the head, and have the rest of the haircut close to the face. This makes your rounded face seem longer. Anybody with a round face shape will not need any width added to their hair.
Heart shaped faces have wide foreheads, cheekbones that are wider and a narrow chin.
Any attention to the chin is not good you need to have people looking toward your forehead and eyes. Add some bangs over to one side but be sure you do not ask for short bangs or any chopped layers.

This is but a simple example of face shapes
